ROLE OVERVIEW
PURPOSE OF JOB
Assist the Senior Manager/Assistant Manager with tasks such as quarterly billing, maintenance of accounts and monitoring of adherence to internal controls. Strongly collaborate with the Finance Officer and offer guidance where required.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Assist in the maintenance of bookkeeping and accounting for JTC Mauritius.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and reports within set deadlines.
- Assist in the billing process quarterly and annually.
- Assist in Adhoc billing request from admin/accounting team and as well as raise Proforma invoices and issuing Credit notes when requested.
- Set up new business on Viewpoint (VP), converting proforma invoices to final and setting up recurring fees on VP as per agreement.
- Assist and attend to audit queries and liaise with auditors to ensure finalisation of interim/final audit within relevant deadlines.
- Assist in the ROC, FSC, TRC reconciliations on a weekly/monthly basis and ensure replenishment of each deposit account in due time.
- Ensure the regular maintenance of petty cash entries and reconciliations.
- Ensure the company’s credit card reconciliation are maintained properly on a weekly basis with sufficient funds at all times.
- Assist in the processing of annual renewal payments to FSC, ROC, MRA and overseas agents (BVI, SEY, Panama, Jersey) for JTC and its clients.
- Responsible for new incorporation fees for setting up new business.
- Payment of FSC Admin penalty fees as and when requested by admin/accounting team.
- Ensure the monthly preparation of VAT, TDS, APS and other returns.
- Oversee monthly control schedules for utilities on a weekly basis.
- Ensure parking requests and records are properly maintained.
- Responsible for sending Client Monies and Sundry Creditors weekly reconciliation to RCC.
- Assist in the preparation of adhoc finance reports at the Directors’ request or for finance meetings.
- Ensure supplier invoices and payments are done effectively with corresponding entries completed daily/weekly.
- Manage companies under closure to proceed with ECOT process and proper follow up.
- Submit quarterly surveys for regulatory bodies (BOM, FSC, etc.).
- Responsible for monthly schedules (Prepayments/Accruals, PnL Expenses) for Management Accounts.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
- Adhere to JTC core values and expected behaviours.
- Any other duties as deemed necessary by Management.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Good numeracy skills.
- Good IT skills – working experience with Excel is essential.
- Partially ACCA Qualified.
