We are delighted to announce that our JTC Academy has been shortlisted for ‘Best Learning and Development Strategy’ at the 2017 Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Jersey Branch Awards.
This is one of the most prestigious events in the calendar for HR and people development professionals in Jersey and the ‘Best Learning and Development Strategy’ award has been designed to recognise those that invest effectively in the development of their people across an entire organisation, in particular via coaching and mentoring.
As an independent, award-winning provider of fund, corporate and private wealth services, JTC’s success is driven by the high calibre of our people. By supporting each and every employee to maximise their potential, we are also driving business performance. And to our mind, there is a very clear link between individual and team performance excellence and business growth and business success.
Valuing our people means investing in their future and this is where the concept of a global learning and development ‘Academy’ – open and accessible to everyone, wherever they are based and wherever they are on their career path – originated.
The JTC Academy, implemented through our innovative L&D programme, concentrates on the three pillars of talent management – professional / technical development, soft skills development and management and leadership focus – and supports our core local to global business strategy. Additionally, our dedicated online portal also ensures the availability of all courses and materials to all of our 600+ staff in the 19 locations from which we operate.
JTC Academy also further builds on our traditions of mentoring and academic training and brings those practices up to date whilst adding more opportunities than ever before for wider learning and development. We’re particularly proud of our in-house bespoke management programme, which is now accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management.
Importantly, the broader content of JTC Academy is very much tailored to each person’s role, performance, ambitions and potential and has been designed specifically to support and embed our JTC culture and values.
JTC Academy was the brainchild of our Group CEO & Chairman – Nigel Le Quesne – whose vision and support has been critical in driving the implementation, engagement, success and growth of the initiative.
He says: “At the heart of our culture is true Shared Ownership and the stakeholder mentality that it generates. Supporting this, we have some simple but important principles that are about maximising the potential of each individual, ensuring that JTC is a genuine meritocracy and asking our team to bring an entrepreneurial outlook to their work.
“We seek to work with – and provide opportunities for – the very best people. If they share our passion, commitment and appetite for hard work, then they will be supported 100% in their careers with us. The JTC Academy is an investment in both our future and in theirs.”
The winner will be announced at the CIPD Jersey award ceremony on the 4 November 2017 at the Royal Yacht, St Helier, Jersey.
