JTC Appoints New Managing Director in Mauritius

Global professional services provider, JTC, has announced the appointment of Zoubeir Khatib as Managing Director of its Mauritius office.

In his new role, Zoubeir will lead the jurisdiction’s strategic development, driving the expansion of Mauritius as a centre of excellence for the JTC Group and strengthening its position as a global delivery hub. In particular, he will oversee client service delivery and commercial performance, ensuring high standards, regulatory compliance and excellent client experience.

He takes over the reins from Manon Thamothiram, who is retiring after many years of service. Manon joined JTC in 2018 following the acquisition of Minerva having originally joined Minerva in 2007.

With nearly 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Zoubeir has held a number of senior roles with leading global firms in the international service provider space, spanning fund administration, business development and operational leadership. He has particular expertise in risk management, process optimisation and driving commercial growth across Mauritius and Africa. Zoubeir is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants from England and Wales.

Supporting Zoubeir in his new role will be David Ombrasine, who has been promoted to the role of Deputy Head of Mauritius. David has considerable experience in risk and compliance, with particular expertise in the approaches of different local regulators regarding anti-money laundering and information exchange.

Charles-Henry Courtois, Regional Head of AMEA, said:

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Manon, who played a vital role in the development of the Mauritius office. The team and I wish him the very best in his retirement., I would also like to welcome Zoubeir to the JTC Group. With his extensive experience, expertise and his expansive skill set, I am confident he will continue to drive the growth of the Mauritius office, and be a valuable member of JTC’s senior global team.”

Commenting on his new role, Zoubeir said:

“It’s a privilege to be joining such a fantastic team, both in terms of JTC’s operation in Mauritius and across its global network. Theres’s no doubt that our Mauritius office is set to play an increasingly important and strategic role as part of JTC’s ambitious growth plans, supporting the needs of global fund, corporate and fund manager clients. I’m excited to have the opportunity to deliver on that ambition, supported by David and our excellent team, to assert JTC Mauritius as a centre of excellence within the Group and as a key player within the jurisdiction.

“I’d also like to recognise Manon’s considerable contribution to developing the team and service proposition in Mauritius over almost 20 years in a period of considerable change for the industry. We wish him well in his retirement.”

JTC was granted a fiduciary services licence from the Financial Services Commission in Mauritius in 2015, before significantly expanding its operation in the jurisdiction through the acquisition of Minerva in 2018. Today, JTC’s team of experts in Mauritius provides a broad range of services across the fund, private client and corporate sectors, enabling the flow of high-quality capital across multiple markets, and in particular Africa and India.
