Senior Administrator – Risk and Compliance

ROLE OVERVIEW

PURPOSE OF JOB

The purpose of the role is to provide support to the Guernsey Risk and Compliance department with a primary focus on risk assessments, maintaining policies and enforcing compliance procedures and on further enhancing the strong compliance culture within the JTC group.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Client reviews to include all matters relating to Client Risk Reviews and Review Meetings.
  • Compliance / transactional monitoring in accordance with regulatory and business requirements.
  • Assist with the monitoring and checking of new business documentation to ensure that the JTC standard is always upheld.
  • Meeting and communicating effectively with members of staff at all levels to take forward action points arising.
  • Monitor and report effectively on key Risk and Compliance indicators.
  • Preparation and review of compliance reports.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the AML Manual, Compliance Monitoring Programme and other key Risk and Compliance documentation and procedures. Employ a range of investigative techniques including file reviews, desk-based analysis and in-depth interviewing.
  • Ensure accurate schedules of findings and key review documentation is maintained.
  • Liaise with stakeholders in respect of any required amendments to procedures arising from on-going mapping of procedures to the regulatory rules.
  • Promote awareness of regulatory principles and requirements on a day-to-day basis and contribute to the education of other members of staff in this regard.
  • Assist with the general functioning of the Risk and Compliance Team.
  • Assist with monitoring industry developments and taking forward any action points arising.
  • Adhere to Risk & Compliance procedures in relation to regulatory requirements and AML legislation.
  • Adhere to CPD requirements in accordance with qualification level and in-house procedures.
  • Adhere to JTC core values and expected behaviours.
  • Any other duties as deemed necessary by Management.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • International Compliance Association Qualification or willingness to undertake such qualifications.
  • Relevant experience and knowledge of Risk & Compliance standards and practices in the finance industry.
  • Good understanding of risk factors and R&C.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, particularly strong Excel skills and SharePoint knowledge would be beneficial.
