JTC in Guernsey has raised £3,605 through a fundraising quiz evening, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the local community.
The inaugural JTC charity quiz, which took place at Moores Hotel, was attended by professionals from the legal, accountancy and professional services sectors. Each team was captained by a member of JTC’s Guernsey office, and Arolla Partners was crowned the winning quiz team
The funds raised will be shared between three Guernsey charities: Guernsey Welfare Services, Diabetes Guernsey and Guernsey Cancer Support.
Kobus Cronje, Managing Director, JTC, Guernsey said:
“We are so pleased to have been able to raise funds for these fantastic local charities, which were selected by our staff. Giving back to the community is at the heart of JTC’s vision that we are all ‘stronger together’, and it was inspiring to see everyone’s enthusiasm for this charity event.
This was our inaugural charitable quiz, and we hope to hold similar fundraising events in future years, alongside our established ‘Maximising Potential’ campaign, which supports educational charities in all of the jurisdictions in which JTC has offices.”
John Copeland, Guernsey Welfare Service, said: “we are delighted to receive this donation from JTC. We offer a non-judgemental service to assist in keeping people fed or warm for a few days when there is a need. The service has helped more people than ever this year, and the funds received from JTC will be used to top up the much-needed supplies in the food bank”.
Gill Syvret-Berboda, Guernsey Cancer Support, added: “We would like to say a big thank you to JTC for organising the quiz, as well as to everyone who took part and made it such a success. The funds raised for Guernsey Cancer Support will help us to continue our work on the island, providing assistance and running regular meetups for anyone whose lives have been impacted by cancer.”
