JTC Head of Private Client Services named in most influential list

22nd Nov 2016

Iain Johns, Group Head of Private Client Services, has once again been recognised in eprivateclient’s prestigious list of the 50 most influential people from the private wealth management industry.

The list, published on 21 November 2016, is selected by the publisher’s panel of experts, following a rigorous judging process. Factors such as the nominee’s position, achievements, career progression and who made the nomination were taken into account. These, along with PAM Insight’s knowledge of the sector, were used to draw up the definitive list of those who are deemed to be at the forefront of shaping private client work.

As Group Head of Private Client Services, Iain is responsible for the strategic development and performance of JTC’s global private client business line.  He also sits as a Director on JTC’s Group Holdings Board.

Iain has extensive experience in dealing with the financial affairs of some of the world’s wealthiest families. His role focuses on the development of private client services for high-net-worth individuals, families and institutions. He also has management responsibility for a number of our international offices and multijurisdictional clients.

Iain recently spearheaded a world first: the establishment of the first ever Managed Trust Company (MTC) in Jersey for a mainland Chinese institution.  The ground-breaking licence was issued by the Jersey Financial Services Commission on 14 July 2016 to Ark Trust (Jersey) Limited (Ark), a subsidiary of major Chinese firm Noah Wealth Management (Noah).  Noah will now be able to offer Jersey trust structuring solutions to its client base of over 100,000, with JTC providing ongoing administration services for Ark and any trusts for which it acts as trustee.

Commenting on his inclusion, Iain said: “I am honoured to be included in this list. The accolade underpins the hard work and emphasis we place on excellent client service, and reflects the high standards we adhere to at JTC. We continuously strive to enhance our private wealth services across the 18 jurisdictions in which we operate in order to meet the needs of our multi-jurisdictional client base.”

This continues the success of JTC’s Private Client Services division this year, having being named in eprivateclient’s Top 25 Trust Companies across the UK and Crown Dependencies for the fifth consecutive year, as well as being recognised as a ‘recommended adviser’ in the Chambers and Partners High Net Worth Guide 2016.
