Manager, New Business – BD & Marketing

An exciting new Manager level role to complement the dynamic and growing Business Development & Marketing (BD&M) team and wider client-facing BD team for ICS EMEA. The position is jurisdictionally agnostic and has excellent scope for growth and further development.

Purpose of Job

Within this role the primary focus will be the development of a robust Request for Proposal (RFP) process and the management thereof to deliver excellent and efficient RFP responses for the ICS Division across EMEA.

As Manager within the ICS EMEA BD&M team assist the Head of ICS EMEA BD&M and wider BD team to track, analyse won/lost business and provide research and data analysis on potential targets/ clients.

You will support the Head of ICS EMEA BD&M and other colleagues in working to achieve the objectives of the ICS Division, through the effective delivery of the agreed BD & Marketing programme.

Candidate will provide BD services, appropriate to the role, to ICS fee earners (including designated ‘Finders’) in all ICS EMEA jurisdictions and across all ICS EMEA service lines and sectors while working collaboratively as required with colleagues in Group Operations functions.

Essential Requirements
  • Fund services knowledge is essential
  • Corporate services knowledge advantageous but not essential
  • Experience with data tracking and analysis essential
  • BD & Marketing experience advantageous but not essential
  • A sound understanding of business finance
  • Excellent writing, editing and reviewing skills
  • Commercial acumen and focus
  • Proven research skills
  • Prior management of proposal software advantageous
Main Responsibilities and Duties
  • Manage relevant and drive RFP processes and meet deadlines by establishing project priorities and due dates for RFP/proposal responses
  • Manage and oversee the development of RFP responses and other relevant proposal / presentation documents describing organisational products and services in response to requests from prospective clients for all ICS service lines in EMEA
  • Drive the implementation of appropriate software tools and working practices to develop and administer a repository of standard language, product collateral, case studies and other data resources to create high-quality and accurate RFP responses in the most efficient manner
  • Utilising JTC’s Salesforce CRM system and working in partnership with the Digital Team, establish a tracking system with win-loss information as well as review and analyse RFP losses to recommend enhancements to products, pricing or processes
  • Manage and maintain proposal templates (e.g. PandaDoc) across our digital platform for our BD teams to ensure they are relevant and up to date
  • Conduct market/ competitor analysis for benchmarking/ best practices
  • Research and targeting of prospective clients by analysing data from publicly available sources and research platforms that JTC subscribes to e.g. Prequin, Convergence
  • Assist the Head of ICS EMEA BD&M to manage the ICS pipeline with the respective BD teams, ensuring that it is up to date on a monthly basis as well as track reasons for won/ lost business according to service line and sector
  • Gather data for reporting, compile relevant reports and work to improve reporting on a continuous basis
  • Manage, independently where possible, day-to-day issues that may arise within the role
  • Ensure a professional service is provided at all times
  • Develop self and maintain knowledge in relevant fields at all times
