David has a significant specialism in private and commercial trusts and foundations.
He focuses on providing technical and pragmatic advice on the establishment and on-going administration of private and commercial trusts and foundations that are tailored for the practical and commercial requirements of clients. He also has extensive experience in drafting bespoke and complex trust instruments, foundation regulations, and company documents for HNWI and UHNWI and families, preparing bespoke will trusts, and providing documentation for SPV, philanthropy, charitable, and non-charitable purposes. He has an additional specialism in structuring for Middle East clients.
David also has considerable experience in corporate and finance matters, in particular, transactions involving trustees refinancing or selling and/or purchasing trust fund property and/or HNWI or families entering entrepreneurial ventures. He has provided opinions to foreign courts, foreign revenue authorities, and institutional lenders on complex issues relating to trust and corporate issues.
Before joining JTC Law, David was a partner of a global offshore law firm and Group Head of their Jersey Private Client & Trusts department.
David has over 20 years of legal experience as a Jersey Advocate and Notary Public, and holds the Islamic Finance Qualification.
