James Clifford

Highlights

He began his career serving with the British Army for several years before starting his Financial career at JPMorgan where he was responsible for helping to build the fledging CDO business in the early 2000’s, where he eventually became the Head of European Synthetic CDO’s.

He then moved to New York to work to Co-Lead the Global Americas Structured Finance Division before returning to London to head up the EMEA Structured Finance business. After restructuring and leading the business through the financial crisis, James was appointed Chief Risk Officer to Bank of New York’s European Bank in Luxembourg, holding responsibility for branches across multiple European cities. More recently, he has worked for a Swiss based private bank as the Head of Risk.

James brings a wealth of experience in the construction and implementation of Risk and Compliance Governance frameworks in multiple jurisdictions, along with international experience in structured finance, asset/fund management and private banking.

In their spare time

In his spare time, James can be found either on or by the sea, where he enjoys paddle surfing, kayaking and is also a keen sailor, and has crossed the Atlantic Ocean twice.  When he is not engaged in his watersport hobbies, James spends time with his young daughter.
