Compliance Officer – South Dakota Trust Company LLC

ROLE OVERVIEW

PURPOSE OF JOB

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our SDTC Compliance group. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting our trust company compliance services and enhancing our internal compliance operations. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES

  • Assist with the Compliance review of new SDTC accounts. 
  • Support the SDTC control-testing program through testing and reporting. 
  • Prepare and disseminate meeting materials. 
  • Collaborate across departments to identify and evaluate business risks as well as design, implement, and establish controls. 
  • Attend meetings and present compliance-related materials.
  • Work with regulatory agencies and auditing firms. 
  • Assist in document review and preparation.
  • Support the development and maintenance of internal compliance policies and procedures.
  • Provide compliance guidance and training to staff as necessary.

ESSENTIAL REQUIRMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and applicable experience.  
  • 5+ years of relevant trust company compliance, auditing, regulatory, bank compliance, or similar experience. 
  • Strong organizational, research, and analytical skills.  
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, writing ability, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Preferred: Possession of a professional designation such as Certified Fiduciary & Investment Risk Specialist (CIFRS), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Regulatory compliance Manager (CRCM), or similar certification, or a willingness to complete one or more of the certification processes.
