James Tracey, Managing Director of our Guernsey office, has welcomed Guernsey’s recognition in the 2018 Investment Week Fund Services Awards where it was judged to be the ‘Best Centre for Fund Administration’.
He commented:
‘Guernsey has long been a favoured choice for fund administration services by institutional clients the world over, due partly to the Island’s supportive financial services industry. Its broader industry offering includes fund management, legal advice, banking and an international stock exchange, alongside private client services such as trust and company administration.
In addition, Guernsey is a robust and safe jurisdiction for funds work, meeting the highest standards of anti-money laundering controls. The island was an early adopter of the Common Reporting Standard (which facilitates the exchange of tax information between over 100 countries) and remains on the OECD white list for transparency.
More recently, it has shown its innovative approach to enhancing its funds offering by introducing the Private Investment Fund regime and its Green Fund certification scheme.
We know that Guernsey’s robust regulatory regime for fund vehicles is appreciated by our clients and helps make the island a very attractive destination for funds work. Its political and economic stability are key assets in our global administration offering and stands us in good stead, particularly while there is uncertainty in the UK as the markets await the outcome of Brexit.’
