Supporting Dementia Jersey Through JTC Gives

Every year, through our JTC Gives programme, each of our global offices selects a local charity to champion through fundraising and community engagement. In Jersey, colleagues chose to support Dementia Jersey, a charity that provides expert guidance for those affected by dementia, raises awareness of the condition and campaigns to improve services across the island.

Alongside its advocacy and support services, Dementia Jersey runs a wide range of enrichment activities designed to help those diagnosed remain active, connected and engaged in the things they enjoy. These include Musical Memories, Art Exploration, Splash Chat swimming sessions, Fun ‘n’ Games boardgame club, Gardening Club, Pétanque, Walk ‘n’ Talk, S Club seated exercise sessions and Coffee & Connect meetups. With such a broad and meaningful offering, support from corporate partners can make a real difference in helping the charity meet its fundraising goals.

Commenting on the partnership, Dementia Jersey CEO Claudine Snape said:

“We are incredibly grateful to JTC  for choosing Dementia Jersey as their Charity of the Year. Their support will make a real difference to the work we do and to the lives of those we support. It will cost £950,000 to deliver our services throughout 2026 and we simply couldn’t do what we do without the generosity, partnership and commitment of organisations like JTC.”

To coincide with Dementia Awareness Week, which began on 18 May, JTC’s Jersey sports and social team, led by Assistant Manager Oliver Gaynor, organised a week of fundraising activities designed to support Dementia Jersey while also encouraging colleagues to engage with the three key pillars of dementia prevention: Love your Heart, Stay Sharp and Keep Connected.

The week included a bake sale filled with sweet and savoury treats, brain-training activities such as crosswords, Sudoku and word searches, a Silent Disco Walk to promote movement and heart health and a collection day on the local high street. The week concluded with a Wear it Purple day and casual drinks reception, bringing colleagues together in support of the cause.

In the lead-up to the week, JTC also welcomed Jane Vincent, Community Education Coordinator at Dementia Jersey, who delivered two fully booked presentations on the charity’s work and the lifestyle changes people can make to support brain health.

Thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of colleagues in Jersey, the team raised an impressive £1,408.16 through the bake sale, volunteering, Wear it Purple day and drinks reception.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising, supporting and contributing to the week’s activities. If you would like to support the office’s fundraising efforts, donations can be made via the JustGiving page.
