ROLE OVERVIEW
PURPOSE OF JOB
To support and contribute to the delivery of independent operational risk and compliance oversight for the SA Fund Administration business by reviewing risk and compliance matters, providing guidance and challenge to stakeholders, supporting timely escalation of issues, and helping ensure activities remain within JTCās defined risk appetite and applicable regulatory requirements.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Review and guide junior staff on compliance monitoring based on a risk-based compliance plan to provide reasonable assurance to senior management both local and abroad (to which JTCSA provides outsourced services).
- Provide day-to-day guidance and review support to junior team members to ensure work is completed accurately, consistently and in line with agreed risk and compliance standards.
- Review, assess and support the analysis of ad-hoc or formal compliance breaches, errors and incidents, ensuring matters are accurately documented, appropriately escalated and reported to management in a timely manner.
- Review daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc management reports for accuracy, completeness and key risk themes prior to management review, including the timely escalation of material issues.
- Support the review, implementation and communication of relevant risk policies for the business, including assisting with training and risk awareness initiatives.
- To contribute to and foster the development of risk culture throughout the JTC Group.
- Oversee the ongoing maintenance, accuracy and timely updating of relevant internal risk and compliance registers, ensuring matters are tracked and escalated where required.
- Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders to support risk awareness, constructive challenge and the timely resolution of agreed actions.
- Monitor agreed management actions arising from compliance reviews, breach reports, errors and risk matters to support timely remediation and closure.
- Remain independent from the local business while providing appropriate guidance, challenge and escalation support where required.

- A relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience in compliance / financial services.

- Ability to review work performed by junior team members and provide clear, constructive feedback.
- Ability to identify emerging risk themes and escalate these appropriately.
- Effective influencing skills with an ability to challenge with confidence.
- Adaptable to change.
- Risk / Audit experience ideally including operational risk and analysis in a Fund Services, Banking or Investment Management environment.
