Assistant Manager AML KYC

ROLE OVERVIEW

PURPOSE OF JOB

The Assistant Manager AML/KYC Officer supports JTCL’s compliance with client AML/KYC requirements for administered structures, including funds, general partners, carry vehicles and related entities. The role focuses on client AML only and excludes investor AML and investor onboarding. It requires strong AML/KYC knowledge, understanding of fund and corporate structures, and effective communication with clients and internal teams.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Supervise, support and guide team members in the execution of client entity-level ongoing due diligence, AML/KYC, KYT and KYA reviews for administered structures, specifically funds, general partners, carry vehicles and associated entities, including related ownership and control arrangements, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and agreed service standards. This excludes investor AML/KYC activity.
  • Conduct, review and oversee client entity-level AML/KYC due diligence on administered structures, specifically funds, general partners, carry vehicles, associated entities, complex ownership and control structures, structure charts and client fund structure profiles.
  • Identify AML/CFT risks, determine documentary requirements and ensure appropriate risk classification, escalation and mitigation of higher-risk relationships, including adverse media, sanctions, PEP and tax-related considerations.
  • Perform and oversee AML gap analyses to identify outstanding documentation, remediation actions and compliance deficiencies.
  • Review and approve Risk Assessment Matrices (RAMs), Tax Assessment Matrices (TAMs) and associated due diligence assessments.
  • Act as a key point of contact and subject matter expert for clients and internal teams on AML, KYC, KYT and KYA requirements within the first line of defence, providing guidance and internal training where required.
  • Collaborate closely with other JTCL teams to ensure seamless operations, effective communication and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Coordinate and oversee the collection of client entity-level due diligence and AML/KYC supporting documentation for funds, general partners, carry vehicles and associated entities through email, meetings and telephone discussions, excluding investor AML documentation.
  • Monitor and manage remediation projects, periodic review workflows and ongoing monitoring of client entity-level relationships relating to funds, general partners, carry vehicles and associated entities, including related ownership and control arrangements, to ensure timely completion and effective risk mitigation.
  • Ensure all AML and due diligence records are accurately maintained within ViewPoint, online screening applications, checklists, Excel databases and other internal systems.
  • Attend conference calls and meetings with clients, internal stakeholders and external auditors in relation to AML/KYC matters.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • At least five years’ relevant experience in client entity-level AML/KYC with a focus on funds, general partners, carry vehicles, associated entities, fund administration, corporate services or a comparable regulated financial-services environment, including supervisory or quality-control responsibilities. Investor AML experience is not the focus of this role.
  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification, preferably in law, compliance, finance, business administration or a related discipline.
  • A recognised AML/KYC qualification, such as ACAMS or ICA, is desirable.
  • Sound working knowledge of Luxembourg AML/CFT and counter-proliferation financing principles, financial sanctions, PEP and adverse-media screening, beneficial ownership, source of funds and source of wealth, and the risk-based approach.
  • Practical experience with client entity-level onboarding, periodic and trigger-event reviews and remediation for funds, general partners, carry vehicles, associated entities and related ownership and control arrangements, rather than investor AML processes.
  • Strong understanding of investment fund structures and related client entities, including funds, general partners, carry vehicles and their ownership and control arrangements.
  • Demonstrable experience applying maker-checker controls, maintaining auditable records and producing accurate management information.
