Senior Administrator – Investor AML/KYC

ROLE OVERVIEW

PURPOSE OF JOB

Based in Mauritius, the Senior Administrator supports JTCL in carrying out defined investor due diligence, ongoing monitoring and investor registration activities under an approved intra-group outsourcing arrangement. The role independently manages assigned files of appropriate complexity, completes accurate and well-evidenced operational analysis, supports junior colleagues and escalates material matters to the Assistant Manager. All activities must be performed within JTCL’s approved procedures, access rights and instructions. JTCL retains accountability, control, oversight and final decision-making authority for the outsourced activities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Manage assigned investor onboarding, review, remediation and static-data cases within agreed service levels.
  • Review AML/KYC information and supporting documents against investor type, risk-based requirements and Luxembourg standards.
  • Identify investors, beneficial owners, controlling persons, authorised signatories and related parties.
  • Support checks on identity, ownership and control, relationship purpose, and source of funds/wealth where required.
  • Perform sanctions, PEP, adverse media and other risk screening using approved tools.
  • Investigate potential matches, document outcomes and escalate unresolved or material alerts promptly.
  • Prepare clear, complete and auditable case files, recommendations and escalation summaries for review.
  • Communicate with approved internal and external contacts to obtain outstanding information and resolve routine queries.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, evidence reviewed, conclusions, approvals and outstanding actions.
  • Support workflow monitoring, reporting, quality metrics, incident reporting and Luxembourg oversight queries.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to Administrators and perform peer or first-line quality checks where assigned.
  • Escalate complex cases, high-risk factors, suspected falsification, critical KYC gaps, data issues, breaches, backlogs and service risks without delay.
  • Protect confidential information and personal data using only approved systems, access and communication channels.
  • Support procedure updates, training, audit requests, business continuity testing and approved process improvements.
  • Perform other duties within the approved outsourcing scope as assigned.
  • Work strictly within the approved outsourcing scope, authority levels and procedures.
  • Do not waive mandatory requirements or make unapproved process changes.
  • Do not make final decisions on investor acceptance, AML clearance, risk overrides, EDD, sanctions, restrictions, suspicious activity or regulatory reporting.
  • Refer exceptions, judgement-based matters and material findings to the Assistant Manager for escalation where required.
  • Ensure final approvals, exceptions and instructions are traceable to an authorised Luxembourg approver.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • At least three years’ relevant experience in investor AML/KYC, transfer agency, fund administration or a similar regulated financial services environment.
  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification, ideally in law, compliance, finance, business administration or a related field.
  • An AML/KYC qualification such as ACAMS or ICA is desirable.
  • Practical experience in investor onboarding, periodic and trigger-event reviews, remediation, screening and registration of investors and related parties in a core transfer agency system.
  • Sound knowledge of Luxembourg AML/CFT and counter-proliferation financing principles, sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening, beneficial ownership, source of funds and source of wealth, and the risk-based approach.
  • Understanding of common fund structures and investor types, including individuals, corporates, partnerships, trusts, foundations, regulated financial institutions, pension arrangements and investment funds.
  • Experience applying maker-checker controls, maintaining auditable records and delivering work to defined quality and service standards.
  • Ability to analyse complex information, identify inconsistencies and prepare concise, evidence-based recommendations and escalations.
  • Strong organisation, prioritisation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, strong Microsoft Office skills, and ideally experience with specialist AML and transfer agency systems.
  • High standards of integrity, confidentiality, attention to detail and accountability.
  • Ability to guide junior colleagues and manage high volumes and competing deadlines without compromising quality or control standards.
