Mainstream Press Catching On to the Benefits of EB-5

Coverage of JTC’s recent webinar shows major publications are beginning to understand the success of EB-5 and what makes it distinct from the Gold Card.

As leaders in EB-5 administration, we at JTC spend a lot of time trying to get the word out about how EB-5 has helped America, especially since the passage of the EB-5 Reform and Integrity Act of 2022 (RIA). With the RIA’s grandfathering deadline approaching in 2026 and reauthorization necessary for the Regional Center Program to extend past 2027, it’s crucial we differentiate EB-5 from other initiatives like the Gold Card that don’t offer the same benefits to communities.

That’s why JTC’s EB-5 team has participated in industry events, advocated for EB-5 in Washington, and spoken at length with the media about the positives of EB-5. One of our most successful events was Changing the Narrative: EB-5 and Economic Impact, a webinar that brought together a group of women from across the EB-5 industry to talk about the human stories behind EB-5 and how it’s helped create jobs and revitalize communities while giving immigrant investors a path to a new life.

Clearly, the event had a big impact, as it resulted in a profile from Forbes. The article goes into detail about what makes EB-5 so attractive to investors in 2026, including reduced filing fees, set-aside visas, and the RIA’s integrity measures. The article quotes extensively from the webinar, with participants explaining how EB-5 has helped American communities and the need for a permanent version of the Regional Center Program.

“Temporary programs invite hesitation while permanent ones invite commitment,” Christine Chen of CanAm Enterprises says in the article. “Making EB-5 permanent would encourage long-term planning, stabilize capital flows and reduce the recurring cycles of political brinkmanship that have historically plagued the program.”

The webinar is part of a new strategy to focus on the human stories behind EB-5, and based on the coverage it has received, it’s obvious these stories are connecting with listeners.

“EB-5 tells a politically sustainable story: jobs, housing and infrastructure, rather than a pay-to-enter narrative,” says Jill Jones in the article. Focusing on this story is the key to a longstanding and successful EB-5 program.
