JTC has announced the appointment of Matthias Belz as the new Head of JTC Private Office, with the firm seeing a rise in global interest in its service designed to meet the needs of a new generation of ultra-high net worth families.
Based in Geneva, Matthias will in his new role take on responsibility for continuing to grow and develop the JTC Private Office business, which marks its first anniversary this month and provides a full range of services to high net worth individuals, single and multi-family offices by bringing together all aspects of wealth and lifestyle management in one place.
Matthias joins JTC Private Office having most recently been Managing Director at a leading global service provider, where he worked for almost 17 years. With extensive international private client experience over a career of some 25 years across Asia, Europe and South Africa, Matthias has expertise in administration, accounting and finance, investments, real estate, compliance, regulatory, legal and tax matters across multiple jurisdictions.
Meanwhile, Director Rebecca Bettany, who has led the day-to-day running of JTC Private Office since launch, will continue to play a pivotal role in its development by focusing on the home markets of the UK and Channel Islands.
Iain Johns, Group Head of Private Wealth Services, said: “Over the past year, we’ve been delighted with the global interest we’ve seen in Private Office, in particular from the US and Middle East as well as Europe. Matthias’ truly international experience will undoubtedly prove invaluable in helping to maintain the momentum we’ve seen over the past twelve months and help take the business to the next level.”
Commenting on his appointment, Matthias said: “In JTC Private Office, JTC has developed a hugely powerful solution that is aimed squarely at meeting the increasingly sophisticated needs of a new generation of globally dynamic individuals and families. JTC has also earned a reputation for innovation and first-class client service, delivered by a fantastic multi-jurisdictional team, and I’m looking forward to drawing on those strengths and working with my new colleagues as we continue to grow the business and support the aspirations of families around the world.”
Rebecca Bettany, who will continue to be based in Jersey, added: “What has become abundantly clear over the past year is that there is widespread agreement that a family office solution needs to be more than just a financial services provider. I’m looking forward to working with Matthias to continue to assert that philosophy and cement our position as a market leader.”
Matthias’ appointment comes shortly after JTC Private Office picked up an award for its proprietary private office technology at the WealthManagement.com 2019 Industry Awards in New York. The innovative online platform, Edge, won the award for ‘Family Offices: Client Initiative’. This was swiftly followed by JTC winning Trust Company of the Year (large firm) at the 14th annual STEP Private Client Awards in London. November has seen yet another success for JTC Private Office and its digital online portal Edge at the WealthBriefing MENA Region Awards in Dubai, picking up the ‘Best Client Reporting Solution’ award.
