ROLE OVERVIEW
PURPOSE OF JOB
To act as a senior member of the AML Officer Services team, with a primary focus on delivering a robust and independent AML Officer service across relevant fund structures. This includes providing effective AML/CFT/FS oversight, supporting compliance with applicable regulatory obligations, and enhancing governance frameworks through informed challenge, oversight of appointed Fund Administrators, and identification of deficiencies or areas for improvement.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Supporting the delivery of AML Officer services to fund clients in line with applicable AML/CFT/FS regulatory obligations and internal service standards.
- Assisting with the oversight of fund AML/CFT frameworks, with consideration to the nature, scale and complexity of the fundās activities and structure.
- Supporting the review and assessment of AML/CFT governance arrangements to help ensure they remain appropriate, effective and aligned with regulatory requirements and expectations.
- Contributing to the monitoring of appointed Fund Administrators and other relevant service providers in respect of AML/CFT responsibilities and control effectiveness.
- Assisting in the performance of AML/CFT reviews and audits of client frameworks and relevant service providers, ensuring findings are clearly documented and escalated where appropriate.
- Supporting the maintenance and periodic review of client AML/CFT policies and procedures to ensure they remain current and fit for purpose.
- Assisting with the preparation of quarterly AML Officer reports for Boards, including the identification of key risks, control matters, breaches, deficiencies and areas for enhancement.
- Supporting the completion and periodic review of Business Risk Assessments, including the identification and assessment of AML/CFT risks and mitigating controls.
- Assisting with the review and escalation of high-risk and politically exposed person investor matters, ensuring appropriate consideration, documentation and follow-up.
- Maintaining required AML/CFT logs and registers, including high-risk customer logs, PEP logs and suspicious activity reporting records, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Assisting with the enhancement of AML/CFT governance frameworks through ongoing monitoring, informed challenge and identification of deficiencies or opportunities for improvement.
- Producing management information, reports and supporting documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Collaborating with colleagues, management and client service teams to support the effective delivery of AML Officer services and consistent application of AML/CFT standards.
- Completing ad hoc AML/CFT, risk and compliance projects as required.
- Adhering to internal policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and AML/CFT legislation at all times.
- Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of relevant legal, regulatory and industry developments affecting AML Officer services, fund governance and AML/CFT obligations.
- Promoting awareness of AML/CFT responsibilities and governance requirements on a day-to-day basis.
- Adhering to JTC core values and guiding principles.
- Remaining aware of the obligations relating to the identification and reporting of unusual and suspicious activity.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Understanding of AML/CFT risk factors and governance principles.
- Understanding of the role of appointed Fund Administrators within the overall fund structure, particularly in relation to AML/CFT responsibilities, oversight obligations and control effectiveness.
- Hands-on and collaborative approach.
- An ability to work in an organised manner with excellent attention to detail.
- An ability to work towards deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
