ROLE OVERVIEW
PURPOSE OF JOB
The primary function of the Manager – Corporate Services is to oversee and support the delivery of back-office corporate accounting services from Mauritius for the Luxembourg office. The role is responsible for managing the preparation and review of bookkeeping, accounting records, consolidation files, and financial statements in accordance with IFRS and Lux GAAP, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely completion of deliverables.
The role is non-client-facing and is focused on internal accounting production, technical accounting application, and team oversight in relation to corporate structures administered by the Luxembourg office.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Handling all day-to-day bookkeeping activities for our clients, in line with appropriate accounting standards (LUX GAAP and IFRS).
- Ensure accounts teams files adhere to internal standards and procedures, providing final sign off before presentation to the senior manager and ultimately the board of directors.
- Review month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close processes to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare and review complex consolidation working papers in accordance with IFRS, including multi-entity and group reporting structures.
- Interpret complex shareholders agreements and other legal agreements to determine required accounting entries.
- Apply IFRS specific standards, drive technical IFRS consultations, prepare technical IFRS memos when required.
- Prepare working papers to facilitate the audit process for client profile.
- Document internal control procedures and recommend improvements to management.
- Preparation, review, and co-ordination of IFRS/ Lux GAAP (balance sheet, profit and loss and notes) financial statements.
- Processing and booking invoices, execution and payment preparation, management of accounts receivables and accounts payables, reconciliation balances, fixed assets, and miscellaneous bookings.
- Keeping abreast with accounting standards (Lux GAAP and IFRS).
- Perform final review/sign-off of accounting files before submission to the Luxembourg office or relevant internal reviewers.
- Support internal stakeholders in responding to accounting information requests from the Luxembourg office.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Holding at least a bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting/management or related field: professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, SAICA).
- 5+ Years experience in a similar role.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and Lux GAAP.
- Experience reviewing accounting for holding companies, SPVs, real estate structures, and private equity structures would be advantageous. Demonstrated experience in preparing and reviewing IFRS consolidation files and group reporting packs.
- Ability to take initiatives, create solutions, display organizational capabilities and client service attitude, work with proactivity and respect deadlines.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw meaningful insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and colleagues at all levels.
