Assistant Accounts Officer – Finance

ROLE OVERVIEW

PURPOSE OF JOB

• Provide junior-level support to Financial Controllers across a shared international portfolio.
• Assist with core finance and administrative tasks that support the delivery of management accounts and related reporting requirements.
• Contribute to a team structure that supports efficient delivery, appropriate role layering, and long-term junior development within PCS Finance.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Support the preparation of management accounts and related finance deliverables.
• Prepare journals, supporting schedules, and working papers.
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and other control processes.
• Provide support for audits, statutory filings, and other reporting requirements.
• Help maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with administrative finance tasks across the team as required.
• Work across a shared portfolio, supporting different team members based on business need.
• Build knowledge of core finance processes and develop into broader management accounts activity over time.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Entry-level role with no prior experience required.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage routine tasks accurately.
• Comfortable working as part of a team and supporting multiple stakeholders.
• Basic Excel and general IT skills.
• Positive, proactive approach and willingness to develop within a finance environment.
