Mike Freer

Highlights

Mike is responsible for supporting both new and existing clients across the corporate, public and not-for-profit sectors in the design, implementation and administration of employee incentive, pension and share plan solutions. He works closely with companies, trustees and other stakeholders to implement effective equity-based compensation arrangements that align employee rewards with wider business objectives, with a strong emphasis on client service and practical execution.

Prior to joining JTC, Mike was Head of Business Development at a professional services firm, where he worked across domestic and international markets. He also has experience in establishing new markets in new jurisdictions, as well as securing legal and regulatory approvals.

Mike sits on the Fiscal Strategy Group standing committee, part of Jersey Finance, where he contributes to the consideration of future tax policy matters. He has also supported the Government of Jersey through various working groups focused on the implementation of pension regulation and the development of an island-wide workplace pension, bringing a practical and informed perspective to these evolving policy initiatives.

In their spare time

In his spare time, Mike is an enthusiastic sports fan with a particular passion for Leeds United. He is always up for a walking challenge and has completed the Jersey and Guernsey island walks, the Yorkshire Three Peaks, Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) and Mount Batur. Mike is also a regular volunteer for both Jersey Hospice Care and the Jersey Opera House.
