As a dedicated professional focused on meeting client needs, she brings a robust background in legal, and compliance matters to her work.

Leyla began her career as a legal academic, where she taught law at both university and professional levels for 10 years. During this time, she engaged in research and published works on family law, emphasising the relationship between British and Shariah law.

Additionally, she worked on important projects with the Cayman Islands Government, including initiatives related to the Gender Equality Tribunal and revisions to the Labour Law. She also gained valuable experience while working at a boutique law firm, a global fiduciary firm, and the trust department of a Class A bank.

In her last role, she managed a bespoke and complex structure for a family office client, encompassing multiple trusts and companies with cross-jurisdictional regulations and assets.

In their spare time

As a recent new mother to a baby girl, Leyla’s current hobbies are based around her interests! She has also held various voluntary positions in sports administration in the Cayman Islands and is an internationally certified Supervisor and R&J for Amateur Boxing. She has attended two Commonwealth Games as a Team Manager for the Cayman Islands.
