JTC’s Rising Stars Shortlisted for Industry Awards

31st May 2023

Elizabeth Pickersgill, Assistant Manager, Group Human Resources (HR) and Natalie Smart, Assistant Manager Business Development and Marketing, Institutional Client Services (ICS), have both been shortlisted for Jersey Finance’s ‘Rising Stars’ awards 2023.

Now in their fourth year, the awards are designed to celebrate young talent local to Jersey and showcase future leaders across the finance service industries. Other categories include: Accountancy, Banking, Compliance, CSR and Employee Morale, Digital, Diversity and Inclusion, Funds, Investment Management, Law, Operations and Secretarial, and Trust and Corporate Services.

Elizabeth is a HR professional who manages the HR administration team responsible for 18 JTC offices across 13 jurisdictions. The proactive approach she takes to her work has proven invaluable in supporting the integration of seven business acquisitions in the last two years. During her time at JTC she has already improved absence management systems, streamlined the on-boarding process and generally increased business efficiencies. Her consistently exceptional performance has resulted in two promotions since joining the team in 2018 and she continues to bring about and advocate positive change in her team and department.

Elizabeth was nominated by Director, Dee Hudson who said:

“Lizzie is determined, dedicated, and professional with a strong work ethic.  She goes above and beyond expectations in her commitment to deliver excellence.  Lizzie leads her own team as well as continuously supporting the HR Department, actively contributing to ensure the achievement of shared goals and exemplifying JTC’s #StrongerTogether values in the team.”

Natalie joined JTC in 2019 as an administrator and, over time, developed her role to such an extent that she now leads the events programme for the ICS division, all whilst working towards a 2023 promotion to Assistant Manager. She has been instrumental in increasing the global events schedule by 75% year on year, whilst consistently raising their quality to improve our clients’ experience. Her work is pivotal to our ICS strategic marketing plans whilst supporting the global ICS Business Development team to deliver wins to meet financial targets. Natalie has also completed the PRINCE2 Project Management certification, enabling her to take responsibility for increasingly complex and high value event campaigns as JTC grows.

Commenting on her shortlisting, nominator and Associate Director Danielle Pearse highlighted:

“Natalie is a creative and professional marketer who is hard working, diligent and excellent at collaborating with and influencing internal stakeholders. Her passion and enthusiasm for delivering the best events experience for both the business and clients, makes her truly unique and an invaluable member of JTC’s ICS marketing team.”

Voting is now open for the Rising Star awards and closes on Friday 7 July. The winners will be announced at a ceremony held at the Royal Jersey Showground on Friday 28 July.

Wendy Holley, Chief Operating Officer, commented:

“It is great to see promising young professionals from JTC shortlisted yet again for the Rising Stars awards and I am delighted to see that, this year, amazing talent from across different operational business lines have been recognised with a nomination for both the HR and Marketing categories.

“Natalie and Lizzie have each already taken huge strides in their careers to positively impact their teams and the business as a whole, which I am sure is a sign of great things to come in their bright futures with us.”
