Jill Jones on how the Challenges of 2024 set up EB-5 for a Strong Year in 2025

23rd Jan 2025
In an article for Law.com, Jones discusses the opportunities that lie ahead for EB-5 investors, developers, and Regional Centers.

JTC Head of Specialty Administration and General Counsel USA Jill Jones has penned a new article for Law.com’s Daily Business Review. The piece, EB-5 Rebounds After a Rocky Year: Challenges of 2024 Lay Groundwork for a Booming 2025, makes the argument that despite the many issues facing EB-5 such as industry lawsuits, increased filing fees, and USCIS audits, the program is poised to have its biggest year yet.

Drawing on data showing increases in investor petitions, project applications, and EB-5 visa issuance in 2024, as well as the levels of investment that have been directed to rural and high-unemployment areas, Jones details how EB-5 has gained momentum since the passage of the EB-5 Reform and Integrity Act of 2022 (RIA). She also talks about the challenges ahead, like the fight for a permanent Regional Center program, along with the moves Regional Centers can make to take advantage of the high interest in EB-5 right now.

“The key takeaway? The EB-5 program is thriving, but long-term success requires staying ahead of the curve,” says Jones in the article. “After another tumultuous year, the groundwork is in place for EB-5 to reach new heights—and for those in the know, the time to act is now.”
