Client Accountant

ROLE OVERVIEW

PURPOSE OF JOB

The accountant will be responsible for the comprehensive preparation of financial statements, management of general ledger activities, and performance of key bookkeeping tasks. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Preparation of Financial Statements and Consolidated Financial Statements for simple and complex structures in accordance with IFRS.
  • Prepare management accounts and year-end financial statements for a portfolio of clients.
  • Liaise with clients to ensure efficient delivery of output and meeting client service expectations.
  • Attend to audit queries and liaise with independent auditors to ensure finalisation of audit within relevant deadlines.
  • Liaise with key partners i.e. MRA, FSC, ROC and key providers in the financial services industry.
  • Prepare tax computations, tax returns, payments where appropriate.
  • Preparation and filing of VAT/TDS/PAYE reporting.
  • Preparing of FSC surveys and filings.
  • Prepare VAT and Tax returns and filing with the relevant tax authorities.
  • Ensure quality assurance of all work performed.
  • Liaise with clients, auditors, tax authorities and regulators
  • Adhere to JTC core values and expected behaviours.
  • Production of monthly management accounts and other ad-hoc reporting as required.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls over financial reporting and bookkeeping processes.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather, analyse, and interpret financial information.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • ACCA fully or partly qualified (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
