Sonia is an Australian trained lawyer with both private practice and in-house experience. She joined the JTC legal team in 2022.
Sonia assists the business with general legal work, as well as taking on group wide projects covering all jurisdictions.
Prior to joining JTC, Sonia was of counsel in one of Jersey’s top ranked litigations teams. During her time in Jersey, Sonia has been involved in a high profile trust and commercial disputes, commercial transactions, provided employment law support to one of the island’s largest employers, assisted local enterprises through data protection readiness and responses, as well as given presentations on discrimination law and employment related topics.
In Sydney, Sonia led the wealth law team at Australia’s oldest and largest trust company, advising HNW and UHNWs and drafting for estate planning, trust establishment, superannuation and pensions as well as philanthropic goals. Earlier in private practice, Sonia’s focus was on contentious and non-contentious trust and estate matters, however she also undertook general conveyancing and SME transactions.
Sonia has a strong IT background and has worked in the gaming and airline industries.
