Paul Fosse Wins Leadership Award at Annual Jersey TechAwards 2024

29th Apr 2024
Paul Fosse, Group Head of Banking & Treasury at JTC, has won in the “Leadership” category at the 6th annual Jersey TechAwards organised by Digital Jersey.

The TechAwards, which took place at the weekend, recognises Jersey’s top tech talent who are committed to creating a better future for the island by embracing digital.

Paul was nominated by HSBC for the role he played in leading the JTC Banking & Treasury team as they pioneered a Virtual Account solution for corporate service providers in the offshore space.

The Virtual Account project saw a strategic partnership with HSBC to reengineer its technology and tailor the HSBC virtual account solution to cater to JTC’s clients’ specific needs. The creative approach, created in Jersey, proved Paul’s vision and ability to navigate and implement innovative solutions in a complex industry.

The approach helps to streamline the account opening process from a waiting period of up to 12 weeks to the same business day, marking an impressive 92% reduction in processing time compared to traditional bank accounts.

With HSBC having nominated Paul for the award, Aline Ayotte, Head of Commercial Banking – Channel Islands and Isle of Man, said this about the victory:

“HSBC is delighted to congratulate Paul Fosse for his win in the Leadership Category at the prestigious Jersey TechAwards. This annual event recognises and celebrates the finest talent and achievements in the technology sector across the island.”

“Paul Fosse’s exceptional leadership skills and dedication to innovation have earned him this well-deserved accolade. Paul has consistently demonstrated his ability to drive growth and inspire his team to achieve excellence. His win in the Leadership category is a testament to his unwavering commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. HSBC is proud to work with Paul and the JTC team.”

Commenting on the announcement, Dean Blackburn, Group Head of Institutional Client Services said:

“Paul’s win is a testament to JTC’s commitment to continuous innovation with our partners and for our clients. The expertise and leadership that Paul brings to JTC are invaluable in helping our clients maximise their potential and help JTC achieve its strategic goals.”

Paul added:

“I am thrilled to have won this award and I am proud of what my team has achieved through the rolling out our Future of Banking strategy blending traditional approaches with tech solutions.”

“The Jersey TechAwards highlight Jersey’s digital abilities with its robust finance standards, emphasising that Jersey truly is a leading international finance centre. JTC has been supportive in their encouragement to be entrepreneurial, which allows us to serve clients with groundbreaking innovations in a collaborative approach.”
