JTC Attends STEP Tax, Trusts and Estates Conference

Start: 24th Oct 2019
Mark Woodford, Director – Private Wealth Services, will be attending the STEP – Tax, Trusts and Estates Conference in Manchester on 24 October.

The UK STEP Tax, Trusts and Estates Conference will cover a general survey of taxation, probate, administration and the work of the Court of Protection. The 1975 Act continues to generate a massive body of case law and issues of mental capacity regularly pose difficulties for advisers. Both topics will be considered and to round off the day there will be a consideration of the pitfalls that can arise during the course of administering trusts and estates.

Topics include:

  • Tax update
  • Capacity issues for private client practitioners
  • Aspects of probate and administration
  • Recent decisions on the 1975 Act
  • Vulnerable beneficiaries
  • Tips and traps in estate and trust administration
