Michelle has over 20 years’ industry experience and joined JTC in 2015 to head up the company’s office in the British Virgin Islands (BVI). Since then her role has evolved and she now has responsibility for the oversight and growth of JTC’s private wealth operations in the Caribbean, which now encompass Cayman as well as BVI.

In addition to managing the daily administration activities of the BVI team, Michelle also has responsibility for expanding JTC’s service offering in this jurisdiction, supporting the Group’s Latin America offices, building relationships with third party introducers and working closely with JTC Kensington in Asia.

Prior to JTC, Michelle was based in Singapore for eight years. She spent four years with Barclays as Managing Director of the Singapore and Hong Kong trust divisions and the other four with Cititrust, where she set up and ran a similar operation. She has also spent a number of years in the private wealth arena in Switzerland (Zurich) working for Citi and Credit Suisse with a particular focus on the Asian marketplace.

Michelle has been named as one of Citywealth's 'Power Women' in their Leaders List 2016 and 2017 and has also been recognised in Citywealth's IFC Top 200 Powerwomen 2017.

In their spare time

Originally from Jersey, Michelle is an extremely keen rescue diver and has experienced the underwater magic of Indonesia, Micronesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Egypt, the Maldives and Cayman, coming within millimetres of white and black tip reef sharks, hammerheads, whale sharks and manta rays - which are her favourites … although she says the pygmy seahorses are just as much fun as the big stuff! Now in the British Virgin Islands, she loves exploring its crystal-clear waters.

When she’s not diving, Michelle teaches for ICSA (Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators) at the local college in BVI. She also enjoys walking and red wine, and is in an ongoing battle in trying to rule the roost with her three adopted and very well-travelled cats - Lola, Tumbletina and Monkey Man - who have more stamps in their passports than her!
