ROLE OVERVIEW
PURPOSE OF JOB
Act as the Senior Manager – compliance and MLRO of FFP (Cayman) Limited, FFP Limited, FFP (Corporate Services) Limited, FFP (Directors) Limited, FFP (Advisors) Limited, and FFP (Fund Administration) Limited (collectively “FFP Cayman”).
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Oversee regulatory compliance and AML risk management for FFP Cayman. This role involves close collaboration with Senior Management and client-facing staff to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Ensure FFP Cayman entities adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices. In this capacity, you will oversee the implementation and management of FFP Cayman’s anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) policies and procedures.
- Provide support to the Head of Global Risk and Compliance, contributing to the overall compliance strategy and risk management framework of FFP Group.
- Investigating and reporting Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and transactions. This includes receiving, assessing, and determining whether external disclosure is required for suspicions raised by company personnel, as well as maintaining a comprehensive Suspicious Activity Report register.
- Support the company’s compliance framework, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements, and acting as a Senior Manager – Compliance. You will provide support to the Head of Global Risk and Compliance, ensuring compliance with AML/CFT laws, policies, and procedures. Other key responsibilities include the effective management and supervision of the firm’s compliance obligations, along with fulfilling all standard duties expected of a Senior Manager – Compliance set out below.
Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
- Develop, update, and oversee AML manuals, policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with Cayman AML laws.
- Assist with preparing regulatory reports to CIMA accurately and within required timelines.
Client Onboarding & Risk Management
- Support client-facing colleagues, Senior Management and Directors with client onboarding, provide guidance to case managers on how to conduct detailed forensic reviews for enhanced due diligence (EDD) on high-risk and PEP relationships, including final sign-off.
- Perform, monitor, and review client risk assessments, including annual approvals of high-risk clients and PEPs.
- Conduct initial and periodic reviews of KYC records to verify completeness and compliance with local and international regulatory standards.
Internal Compliance Audits & Monitoring
- Assist the Board of Directors in planning and executing internal compliance audits, periodic reviews, and ad-hoc compliance-related tasks.
- Assist the Head of Group Risk and Compliance and the Internal Audit function in conducting regular compliance audits to ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Support the development and execution of a compliance monitoring program in collaboration with the Head of Global Risk and Compliance.
- Assess and monitor the effectiveness of FFP Cayman’s compliance program, providing regular reports to senior management and the board.
AML/CTF Risk Management & Reporting
- Develop and maintain a risk-based approach to AML/CTF, identifying and assessing risks while implementing appropriate controls.
- Conduct regular AML/CTF risk assessments and develop action plans to mitigate identified risks.
- Investigate and report suspicious transactions or activities to relevant authorities as required by law.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation related to FFP Cayman’s AML/CTF program.
- Training & Employee Support
- Develop and deliver compliance and AML/CTF training programs to employees, ensuring awareness of legal and regulatory obligations.
- Provide guidance and support to employees of FFP Group compliance requirements related to trust and company management services.
- Collaborate with FFP professionals to integrate compliance requirements across all areas of the company’s operations.
Record-Keeping & Documentation
- Maintain and manage PEP, Sanctions, PI/Complaints/Errors/Breaches/Incidents, and Production Order logs/registers.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation of compliance activities, audits, and regulatory filings.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in a Compliance and/or AML/CTF role and/or risk management functions at senior management level.
- Professional certification in compliance or AML/CTF (e.g., CAMS, ICA, or similar)
- Knowledge and understanding of concepts and regulatory requirements that are common in the financial services industry.
- Strong regulatory knowledge of applicable Cayman laws and regulations, including AML/CTF/PF laws and regulations outlined in the AMLRs, industry practice within the jurisdiction and to international standards. Regulatory knowledge of applicable BVI and UAE laws and regulations would be advantageous.
- Practical expertise in handling enhanced due diligence and higher-risk client relationships is essential.
- A strong understanding of the operational aspects of corporate services, trust services and fund administration would be highly advantageous.
- Hands-on experience managing complex engagements and special situations would be favourable.
- Good working knowledge of ViewPoint would be favourable.
