PURPOSE OF JOB
The role sits with the Forensic Support team.
The team provide Forensic Support team provide litigation support to the Fiduciary team, the Insolvency team and the Trust team.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Forensic Accounting Exercises: Assist Managers/ Directors in conducting forensic accounting exercises to investigate financial discrepancies and support legal proceedings.
- Entity/Trust Accounting: Manage and perform accounting tasks for assigned entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
- Regulatory and Statutory Records: Assist in maintaining regulatory and statutory records, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with legal requirements.
- Database and Records Maintenance: Help maintain key databases and other records, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Billing and Fee Collection: Assist with the billing process and fee collection, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and payment tracking.
- Filing and Record Keeping: Oversee filing and other record-keeping activities, ensuring all documents are properly organized and stored.
- Supervision: Supervise junior accountants and administrators, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
- Projects: Assist with internal projects as requested.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Coaching and Training: Experience in coaching and training junior staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Travel: Ability to travel at short notice, as required by the job.
- Client Deadlines: Ability to meet demanding client deadlines, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services.
- Overtime: Willingness to work significant levels of overtime when necessary to meet project demands.
- Independence: Ability to work with minimum supervision and direction, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Educational Background: Holder of an undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Professional Certification: Accounting qualification from an internationally recognized accounting body (e.g., CA, ACCA, CPA).
- Relevant Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or a related field.
- Audit and Account Preparation: Proven experience in audit and account preparation, demonstrating a strong understanding of financial processes.
- Financial Services Knowledge: Experience and knowledge of financial services, including familiarity with industry regulations and practices.
- Trust Accounting: Experience in trust accounting, ensuring compliance with trust laws and regulations.
- Microsoft Office Skills: Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
