Senior Accountant – Shared Services

ROLE OVERVIEW

PURPOSE OF JOB

The Senior Accountant in the Shared Services Team will be responsible for the comprehensive preparation of financial statements, management of general ledger activities, and performance of key bookkeeping tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within the team.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
  • Preparation of information for the client, which may include portfolio information, valuations, bookkeeping, Trial Balances or financial statements.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Oversee general ledger functions and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
  • Responsible for work on more complex entities.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls over financial reporting and bookkeeping processes.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and interpret financial information.
  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.
  • Provide support to junior team members and the team Manager as and when required.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • ACCA fully or partly qualified (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or review role.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
