Purpose of Job

We’re looking for a strong multi-skilled ‘comms all-rounder’ focussed on creating and implementing impactful internal communication and employee engagement deliverables.

This role sits within Group Marketing, a fast paced, collaborative, imaginative and dynamic team. As a Manager, you will need to be able to demonstrate solid experience in marketing communications with a key emphasis on campaign strategy, writing and event management. Creativity, initiative, enthusiasm, motivation and flexibility are also fundamental to this varied role which will provide excellent growth and development opportunities for the selected candidate.

We are also looking for someone with people management / supervisory experience to provide support in the ongoing development of a high performing team.

Essential Requirements
  • High competency in writing, editing and accurate proof reading
  • Experience of creative campaign creation, implementation and measurement
  • Experience in using social media, content management systems, design and/or video editing software
  • Experience of working with agencies and event suppliers
  • Proven organisational proficiency and the ability to manage and deliver to strict deadlines within budget parameters
  • Keen aesthetic eye for all things ‘brand’
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively build key working relationships at all levels
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and support colleagues
  • Relevant marketing / communications qualification (e.g. CIM, CIPR, IOIC)
Main Responsibilities and Duties
  • Work with the Group Marketing team in delivering the internal communications strategy and employee experience plan. Ensuring that business goals, initiatives and people news are communicated effectively and in line with our values across all locations and service lines – committed, creative and collaborative.
  • Work with the team to plan and deliver communications for our internal programmes and campaigns, championing the importance of employee voice/inclusion/co-creation and evidence-based practice as part of strategies and plans that support our shareholder culture, vision and strategy and maximising potential purpose. We want to build colleague understanding, belief and action and enhance our employer reputation.
  • Manage communication ideas to support our M&A integration activities ensuring alignment with any ongoing business or people strategy communication plans.
  • Work with the team to continuously improve overall channel infrastructure, utilising insight from evaluation to ensure effective targeting of messages.
  • Write high quality creative communication material/content through your own work and working through others in the team. Ensuring the most effective channels and tactics are used within stand-alone and on-going communications so that there is clear alignment with JTC’s culture.
  • Manage the delivery and planning of the Group’s internal comms / engagement events, both virtually and face to face as well.
  • Work with the team in building a listening culture and build feedback mechanisms into internal communications to enable employees to have an opportunity for dialogue.
  • Working with the Associate Director – Group Marketing to plan, guide and manage internal team members with their own workloads and output in order support both personal and professional development.
About you
  • An ability to write clearly and effectively, adapting your style to suit the audience
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills and ability to manage and own multiple competing priorities and deliverables
  • Stakeholder management experience at all levels with strong focus on influencing
  • A good understanding of marketing, communication and social investment strategy, function, activities, tools and techniques
  • Sound business and commercial acumen, including some experience in developing strong business cases
  • Ability to cut through and find solutions and shape outcomes when working in ambiguity
  • Able to analyse and interpret complex metrics and datasets and use this analysis to make informed recommendations and take subsequent action
  • People management experience
