ROLE OVERVIEW
PURPOSE OF JOB
To support business leaders and their management teams across various jurisdictions/ operational teams in successfully achieving divisional and organisational goals, and to contribute to the delivery of HR/People strategies that drive high performance. The HRBP will build strong, credible partnerships at a senior level, representing HR in management meetings where appropriate.
This role holds HR Business Partner (HRBP) responsibility for the policies, procedures, and employee handbooks within their jurisdiction, ensuring best practice, consistency, and the provision of expert advice on employee relations matters.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
HR BUSINESS PARTNER
- Partner with Managing Directors and Management Teams to translate business strategy into HR priorities and actionable goals. The focus will be on divisions in the Crown Dependencies and the UK, as assigned and agreed with the Senior HR Business Partner, in collaboration with HRBPs in other jurisdictions.
- Support organisational design and the implementation of restructuring and other organisational changes.
- Contribute to effective workforce planning and work proactively with Group Resourcing Specialists to support recruitment and hiring. Ensure that JTC attracts top talent in a cost-effective way, adhering to recruitment policies and statutory requirements (including immigration laws).
- Foster positive employee relations and manage employee relations (ER) matters (e.g. disciplinary actions, grievances, dismissals) to minimise reputational risk.
- In conjunction with the Reward Team, manage compensation processes for the assigned jurisdictions. This includes bi-annual salary reviews, promotion processes, and salary benchmarking activities.
- Advise and coach managers on JTC’s reward framework and related policies, including role structures, career pathways, promotions, and compensation and benefits strategy (including shared ownership)
- Support senior management in the annual performance rating moderation process for assigned jurisdictions, ensuring consistency and adherence to due process.
- Undertake regular (i.e. weekly) data integrity checks and ensure the HR system is accurate and up to date with any relevant changes to structure, line reporting, department etc.
- Collaborate with the business and JTC Academy to support talent acquisition, succession planning, and the development of key talent.
- Build close working relationships with managers and Directors, providing expert HR advice and guidance on procedural/policy issues and recommending solutions aligned with business priorities.
- Assist in delivering ongoing performance improvement initiatives that reinforce JTC’s brand, high-performance culture, and commercial approach.
- Maintain current knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements, ensuring that HR policies are compliant and effectively applied.
- Provide specialist guidance on interpreting and applying HR policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
- Offer continuous feedback to divisional leadership and other HR teams regarding a wide range of HR and business issues (both formal and informal).
GENERAL
- Actively contribute as a key member of a multi-jurisdictional HR team, building effective relationships to ensure consistent procedures and continuity of service, particularly during high-demand periods or team absences.
- Maintain the professional standards expected of an HR practitioner and serve as a role model internally and externally.
- Maintain the highest standard of confidentiality and security in terms of employee data and business information and consider the impact of GDPR on all activities undertaken.
- Maintain accuracy when handling data and ensure that the integrity of processes is maintained.Follow the four eye check protocol and fully complete check lists as required, including providing assistance to other HR colleagues who need support with four eye checks.
- Contribute to the wider HR team, supporting ad hoc projects, exchanging knowledge and supporting standards of good practice.
- Proactively develop personal knowledge and skills in the HR field.
- Consistently demonstrate JTC core values and expected behaviours.
- Any other duties as deemed necessary.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience partnering with the business on a broad spectrum of HR activities such as employment relations, talent & succession planning, recognition and reward and employee wellbeing.
- Strong knowledge of HR processes and practices.
- Demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation.
