Business Development Manager – Employer Solutions

Purpose of Job

The role reports into London based Head of Business Development, Employer Solutions.

Your core focus will be helping the Employer Solutions business win new clients and expanding existing relationships. You will achieve this by supporting sales activities, including:

  • Assisting in proposal creation
  • Supporting RFP response processes
  • Supporting pitch presentations
  • Action point follow up

You will also engage in activities to:

  • Boost internal and external distribution
  • Help unlock potential within the Employer Solutions client book
  • Build and manage the Employer Solutions intermediary network
Main Responsibilities and Duties
  • Actively support the sales process from origination to completion
  • Arrange and attend business meetings (with Director, Business Development) with prospective clients
  • Preparing client presentations and materials
  • Prompt follow up on action points from business meetings
  • Help identify new business opportunities, including new markets, new clients and new partnerships
  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers and professional intermediaries.
  • Attending networking opportunities including conferences and industry events
  • Build brand and service awareness with intermediaries
  • Target Heads of Global Benefits (and similar) at prospective client companies, using resources such as LinkedIn
  • Project work, research using systems and internet to build out our IP
  • Adhere to the JTC core values and expected behaviours.
  • Any other duties as deemed necessary by Management.
Essential Requirements
  • At least 10 years industry experience in client facing roles, preferably sales
  • Experience of dealing with corporate clients
  • Strong knowledge of Employer Solutions products / retirement services
  • Excellent multitasking skills and ability to prioritise tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present and explain ideas to a variety of audiences
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to sell value and create credibility
  • Enthusiastic to build good relationships with people
