We have a superb opportunity for the role of International Legal Affairs Advisor to join our New York office. This is a full time role and is based at 630 Fifth Avenue, Suite 2608 – New York, NY 10111
The role holder is responsible for providing leadership and guidance related to the review assessment and evaluation of compliance with rules and regulations applicable to international fund administration and fiduciary services to Latin American private and corporate clients.
The successful candidate will evaluate and implement legal strategies to expand business operations, commercial contacts with national and international wealth planning service providers, and possibility of joint ventures and commercial agreement with international trust companies within the industry;
Review company’s existing compliance policies and procedures to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability;
Review international legal trends to make recommendation regarding access to international fiduciary markets based on current banking and legal relationships with companies overseas;
Develop and implement policies and procedures design to prevent violations of laws, regulations, corporate policies and procedures pertaining to international fiduciary operations; revise as needed;
Prepare and implement feasibility studies to provide fund administration services abroad and will act as a liaison between the company and its foreign clients;
Serve as the primary point of contact for international wealth management compliance issues;
Provide compliance advice related to currency controls and applicable regulations and laws pertaining to wealth protection and trust creation overseas;
Review of international financial laws and regulations, and the individualized needs of our investors, in order to conceptualize and implement planning strategies with cost-effective portfolio managing services according to each country’s legal restrictions;
Ensure compliance with documentation following strict anti-money laundering regulations and financial transaction risk assessment with pertaining regulatory reporting;
Ensure regulatory filings are made timely and accurately; Responsible for maintaining appropriately documented compliance procedures with respect to foreign investment currency regulations.
The role requirements include:U.S. Master of Laws degree (LLM) in Banking, Corporate and Finance Law, plus
Minimum 2 years of experience in the position, or as Associate in Corporate and Securities
Experience must include:
- High profiled securities, and merger/acquisitions transactions involving national and international companies
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements such as shares purchase, investment, shareholders, restructuring, transactional, escrow, joint venture, manufacturing and supply
License to practice law in the U.S. is not required.
