JTC TO PRESENT AT ODPA’S PROJECT BIJOU LAUNCH THIS WEEK

Start: 24th May 2021 End: 28th May 2021

We are delighted to be speaking at the virtual launch of Project Bijou this week, a social initiative that encourages everyone to share stories, knowledge and experiences related to ethical data use, in a way that benefits everyone.

Guernsey’s Office of the Data Protection Authority is hosting the event, which consists of presentations addressing the following themes: the effects data harms have on people, why better engagement is needed, the role culture plays in data and vice versa, what drives behavioural change, and the benefits of looking after personal data well.

JTC’s Michael Whitbread, Director (Data Privacy Governance Officer) in Legal, will be presenting this Thursday, May 27th about how data will bring “everything” to the surface. Michael, who holds admission to the State Bar of New York and the Roll of Solicitors in the State of New South Wales, Australia, leads privacy law compliance for JTC, an award-winning provider of fund, corporate and private client services.

In addition to Michael presenting, other speakers at the Project Bijou launch this week include Richard Thomas CBE (Chair, Guernsey Data Protection Authority), Emma Martins (Data Protection Commissioner and Chief Executive, Office of the Data Protection Authority) and more!
